I have not done anything quilty within the last two weeks.  Had company one weekend and then went out of town last weekend for a funeral.

I have some of the fabric for the   that is scheduled to start tomorrow.  The fabric line, Sunkissed by Moda is beautiful.  I look forward to this adventure.

The Sandstitchers Quilt Guild learned how to make "no-waste" flying geese at our Thursday Project Night.  It was a fun and quick way of making four flying geese in a very short time.

My plans for this week is to get started on a swap for Cobble Court Quilters Group and start on the Block-a-Palooza.

I will share pictures later.

On a very personal note, today is the 16th anniversary of my Mom's death.  I have spent much time reflecting on my time with her.  She was a wonderful, supporative Mom that loved me unconditionally.  She was the bright star in our family, always laughing and making everyone feel good about themselves.  We all miss her even after this long a time.

I completed the NYE Mystery top last night.  Could not sleep so I got up and finished putting all the blocks together.  My plans are to put a small border, using the green with gold stars fabric, then binding in the gold.

Today I started working on the Snowglobes that my guild swapped at our December meeting.  I got all of them placed on their background fabric (white on white snowflakes).  I tried to machine applique them, but my machine would not cooperate.  I put a border on one block just to see how it would look.  I really like it.  Plans are to put this border on all of the blocks, then seperate them by a small noodle of red.  This will be my Christmas wallhanging for my office this year, if I can complete it in time.

Tomorrow is the big day -- back to work after 2.5 weeks off.  Wish me luck and stamina to face the mail that has been piling up on my desk!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I have completed the blocks for the NYE Mystery Quilt but need to put them together.  It is a fun quilt and I love the pattern.  I made the crib size.  Below is a picture of my color choices and a picture of one block.  The block picture is not too clear.

Received calls from my kids wishing me a Happy New Year.  It always good to hear their voices.  Also spoke with a couple of long-time, precious friends.  We all resolve to be more thankful of what we have and to accept ourselves as we are.
