Kensie's First Photo Session

Mandy and I spent a couple of hours at a photographer's studio yesterday getting Kensie's infant photos taken.  I took one picture with my camera that I just have to share with all of you.

Block Swap

I am still in South Carolina, but I have managed to do a little sewing.  I had a block swap due today with my Thread of Friends Yahoo Group.  We swapped two blocks with each participant.  The block's name was Road to California.  My block is shown below:

I have to put together a quilt when I get home and catch up on my AccuQuilt GO! blocks.  The GO! quilt-along blocks have all been revealed.  Next step the arranging the blocks.  Of course, I have two sets of block to complete before I can put mine together.

Just Waiting for Baby

Today is the day, but the hospital has called twice and postponed the "show-up" time.  Apparently there are no beds.  So, we are just sitting around waiting for the call to let us know when to show up.  Of course if Baby Sharp decides to come before then, we will just go!!

More news later..............

On the Road Again

I hit the road again yesterday, driving back to South Carolina.  The baby is due any day and I wanted to be here when it happened.  It was a long day -- 7:00 am -  5:00 pm (CDT) driving, road construction, delays around Atlanta, but I made it safely and that is what counts.  I finished the binding on the baby quilt here last night.  This is a picture of the finished quilt and the baby's room.

On a quilty note, my plans for today include cutting out blocks for a swap with one of my Yahoo Groups, Threads of Friendship.  The block is "Road to California".  The block is not that complicated so I should be able to cut out and sew the 10 blocks in time for the May 20 deadline.

Easter Week

Wow, it has been a while since I posted.  Things have been very busy.  I spent Easter with my kids and grand kids.  We had a great time.  If you are following my blog you know that I am very close to being a "nana" for the third time.  On my Easter visit I was very fortunate to be able to attend a baby shower for my DIL.  The shower was given by her church family.  We had the event at Olive Garden.  I met such a nice group of ladies that obviously loved her very much.  The pictures below are from the "party".  The cupcakes were so cute with the little monkeys hanging around them.

The grand kids and I went to the South Carolina children's museum,  it has a name, but I cannot remember it.  They had such a good time playing firemen, shopping for groceries, riding tractors, and driving cars.

In addition to all of this fun I was fortunate to spend a day with my DIL's parents and grandparents.  We had a fantastic home cooked meal -- corn, butterbeans, chicken and dumplings, turkey and dressing, roast, deviled eggs, mash potatoes, etc.  I am sure I left something out. Oh yes, fresh strawberry cake and another cake that I cannot remember the name, but both were delicious.  They live in a beautiful location in the northern part of SC.  The guineas were also having a feast outside.  I have not seen these birds since I was a kid at my own grandparents' home in Mississippi.

I enjoyed this time with my family.
