June Blogger's Block of the Month

This month's Blogger 's Block of the Month is presented by Billy Button Designs.

This is a very cute block.  It would be a great one to use some of your fabric that just calls for fussy cutting.  Visit Erin's blog by and check out her tutorial.

Also be sure to visit The Peach Patch for a great giveaway.

Have a great week.

My Mom's Morning Glories

The morning glories that originated at my Mom's house, but passed on to me by my Aunt, have started blooming early this year.  This is the earliest that they have bloomed.  I think it is because they have finally grown out far enough from under the oak trees to get more sunshine.

They make me smile and bring back happy memories of my Mom and all of her plants.  She has been gone almost 20 years, but seeing these blooms take me back -- it seems just like yesterday that she was here, spreading joy all around.

Have a wonderful week and don't forget to tell those around you that you love them.

New Kitties on the Block

This is the newest Kitty Mom on the street.  She doesn't belong to any one person, but she shows up at my door crying for food every day.  I knew she was having kittens, but never did see where they were hiding.  Last week they, too, showed up at my door.  There were three little kitties on Wednesday, but my Friday one had disappeared.
Kitty 1 - strange coloration - black head, grey body.
Kitten 2 and 3 (One of these is no longer around)

Kitty Mom will be visiting the vet as soon as the kittens are completely weaned -- that is, if I can catch her.

Spring Mini Quilt Swap

I participated in the Quilting Gallery's Spring Mini Quilt Swap.  My secret swap partner turned out to be Elaine from Colorado.  The beautiful quilt arrived in my mail box Friday.

She did a great job.  Lots of handwork and paper piecing.  Thanks Elaine. I just love it.

My quilt went to Angela in Tasmania.  I got an email from her tonight saying that she had received it and that she loved it also.   This is what I sent to her.  The pattern is by Yoland Fundora of Urban Amish.  This block was in the latest Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks magazine.

Happy Quilting,

Sandra
