Block-A-Palooza Blocks - Final Four

Just a short note to show the last four of the sixteen Block-A-Palooza "Waiting For Spring Blocks".  There are several suggestions by various block designers but I have not made a final decision on the lay out of these blocks.

Please come to Boston.....

Remember the Dave Loggins song --.Please come to Boston for the springtime ...

Well I went to Boston the day before the first day of spring.  It was a business trip to the Boston Seafood Show.  The first day of spring was lovely in Boston, but on the second day,  it snowed.  I tried to get pictures but they did not come out too well because it melted as soon as it hit the ground (pavement).  I do have some photos to share with you from the Seafood Show.  All in all it was a good trip, business wise.  I met with various dealers that I talk with on the phone.  It was a great experience just to see so many seafood companies under one roof of the Boston Convention Center.

Saturday's Adventure On The Road

About our road trip on Saturday, March 12......

Twelve of the "Just Needles" group took a road trip over to Pensacola, FL.  Our primary destination and our first stop was at A&E Pharmacy.  Yes, a pharmacy that has been invaded by hundreds of bolts of fabric.  We spent several hours there.  The pictures below give you some idea of the size of this place.  Needless to say, my wallet was much lighter when I left.  These two picture do not do it justice.  There was every type of fabric imaginable--Christmas, Easter, Novelty, Baby, Animals, Sports, plus entire lines of Moda and many other brands.
The next stop was lunch at Five Sisters.  All of us enjoyed the wonderful food there.

Our last stop was Joann's of Pensacola.  They were having wonderful sales on their fabrics.  Most of us helped them reduce their inventory.  It was a fun day.  I will post pictures of some of the fabric at a later time.

Catching Up

Wow!  It has been awhile since I last posted, but I have been busy.  One accomplishment is a baby quilt for a young lady that works with me.  Her colors were Pink, Green and Brown.  I loved how the quilt turned out and so did she.

I have also completed three more Block-A-Palooza - "Waiting for Spring"  blocks.  Block 11, 12 and 14 are shown below.  I am still working on Block 13.

In addition to Block 13, two more blocks will be added this week, bringing the total to 16.  It will then be time to put the blocks together into a quilt top.

I also have to catch up on the AccuQuilt GO! quilt-along.  Hopefully I will have Block 2 posted this week also.

Our local guild, Just Needles, went on a field trip Saturday.  But more about that in another blog.
