Two Days with Anita Goodesign

A couple of my friends and I spent two days at an Embroidery Workshop sponsored by Anita Goodesign and Brother sewing machines.  We completed five projects and learned a lot about how to use stabilizers and get an embroidery design on various objects.

Anita Goodesign is not a woman.  It is the name of a company with awesome digitized embroidery designs.  It is owned by Steve Wilson.  He and his wife Aundrea lead the workshop, showing numerous items that were decorated with their embroidery designs.

Of course we all bought lots of designs and have hugh plans to make many things!! The following pictures show some of the items that are embellished with beautiful embroidery designs.

National Quilting Day with the Sand Stitchers

Our guild, The Sand Stitchers celebrated National or Worldwide Quilting Day by getting together to sew block to make quilt tops for Quilts of Valor and children in foster care.  We had potluck breakfast and lunch.  A good time was had by all.

Easy Street is a Flimsy!!

I was beginning to think I would never finish this bad boy, but I can finally say it is a flimsy!!

This is it hung over the railing.  It was too large to get a picture of the entire quilt.  I love the outer border; it brings out the turquoise in the quilt and quiets down the lime green.  It finished close to 100 x 100 inches.

The best thing about it is that it is finished.  It will be shown at show and tell tomorrow night at the monthly Sand Stitchers business meeting, then its off to the quilter.

Blogger's BOM Winner from Sharp Quilts

On February 15 the February Bloggers Block of the Month was presented here on Sharp Quilts - "Meet in the Middle".  The tutorial for this block can be found here.

The Random Generator was used to pick the winner of the five fat quarters from "Bee Happy" by Shelly Comiskey for Henry Glass and Co.
