Trip to Baton Rouge

This post is to document my trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was a short two day business trip. I was fortunate enough to have a room at the Hilton that overlooked the mighty Mississippi River.

There were numerous tug boats ferrying cargo up and down the river.

The classic MS River Bridge is shown in this picture.  This is the bridges that I remember as a child.  All of them spanning the Mississippi River looked like this one.

I could not resist taking pictures of the curtains in my room.  Would love to have the fabric for a quilt back.

Also the tile in the bathroom is an inspiration for a future hexagon quilt.

Have a great week and enjoy every day.

  1. Your pictures make me homesick even though I was just home!! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who visualizes quilts when looking at tiles ;-)

  2. I do that too! It's fun and imagine the possiblities!
