The Pascagoula Just Needles Quilt Guild took their fall "Road Trip" to Mandeville LA on Saturday. A fun time was had by all.
We first visited "Bright Hopes" Quilt Shop in Mandeville. The fabric in the next two pictures just jumped into my basket and stayed there until I paid for it.
The black and gold fabric will be joined with this and made into a quilt for one of my sons.
After shopping there for an hour or so we went to lunch at the Camellia Grill in Abita Springs LA.
It was decorated with lots of painted sea creatures, had a mural of a corner in New Orleans painted on one wall, sea creatures painted on the tables, and bar stools with metal sea creatures on the back of them. The food was delicious and the decor was outstanding.
After lunch we visited "Sew This" Quilt store in Abita Springs. The owner gave us a tour of her behind the scenes part of her shop. A Statler long arm was busy quilting a top for someone to send to Iraq for a quilt show. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Several things also came home with me from this shop. Not shown is a cut of fruits and veggies fabric as well as a piece of fabric depicting sewing notions.
We had a lovely day .... and made it home before the rain came.
